Flipnomad’s Photo Thursday – Small Surprises

We went to Jaldapara National Park in West Bengal, India to see wild elephants and rhinos and we were lucky that we did a few minutes after our arrival. we also saw Indian parakeets, hornbills and peacocks. But one of the most unique animal that I saw is this tiny red insect.

I don’t know what this insect is but it sure is very pretty. Never have I seen such insect with a very bright red color. It looks like a termite but I think it isn’t.

Any idea what this insect is?
