The Top Bars and Clubs to Hit While in Barbados

Ice-white beaches, luxury hotels, and exclusive restaurants are all in abundance on the island of Barbados. But this Caribbean hotspot also excels when it comes to night-life, and you’ll easily find something to suit your mood, whether it’s an ultra-hip open air nightclub, a lively rum shop, or a beach party that lasts until the small hours of the morning.

Peace and tranquility are always on offer in Barbados’ natural beauty spots, but when the evening draws in this island certainly knows how to party.

The West Coast

The ultra-exclusive West Coast, also known as the Platinum Coast, is where the rich and famous hang out, and as such you’ll find plenty of stylish bars with live bands playing throughout the evening. If you’re in the mood to spot the celebs then head to Scarlet restaurant in St.James, where you can take in some Warhol art, while sipping on some
fruity cocktails. However, if you’re looking for an authentic Caribbean hangout, then head south to Baxter’s Road in Bridgetown, where you can eat, drink, and dance with the locals until dawn. Harbour Lights is one of Bridgetown’s most popular weekend spots, and features a great seafront location, as well as live bands and barbecues at the famous Monday night beach party.

St. Lawrence

If you’re looking for the best party atmosphere on the island then it has to be at St. Lawrence. The open-air Reggae Lounge is the place to drink and dance under the Caribbean stars, while the Old Jamm Inn is one of the hottest nightclubs in the area, featuring live music and DJs sending out soca and hot jazz. If you’re looking to go a bit upmarket, and like a club that requires a dress code, then it has to be the Sugar Ultra Lounge, which offers a
blend of ultra-sophisticated patrons, and cutting edge light shows. St.Lawrence Gap is regarded as one of the liveliest 1.3Km stretches of bars, restaurants and nightclubs on the island, so book your accommodation in this area if you’re looking to drink and dance the night away.

The Rum Shops

Barbados has an abundance of rum shops, which are small, sociable and mostly double up as inexpensive local bars. They can also become very busy and lively depending on how late in the evening it is, and you can always find karaoke, dancing, and drinks on the deck . Check out the TML One Love Bar in Holetown, for a Sunday night karaoke session, or head to the John Moore Bar in Weston, St James, for the best beach views and some delicious seafood. The Watering Hole in St. Lawrence is another great rum shop where you can kick off the night with some singing and
dancing, before heading on to the area’s famous nightclubs.
