There are quite a handful of Art Galleries in Siem Reap and one of my favourites is The 1961. 1961 is an art gallery, restaurant and boutique hotel rolled into one with tastefully designed furnishings and art decor that I really find interesting.
They also host art exhibitions by various artists from Cambodia and other parts of the world. My frequent visits to 1961 introduced me to the unique world of visual arts which I wasn’t very keen when I was younger. But now I always find myself looking at unique pieces and admiring the creativity and effort put into it by the artist.
Here are some pictures of The 1961 Art Gallery:

They also have a couple of shops in Alley West Pubstreet where you could also see more artworks and other products they designed.

Art Deli is a cafe/restaurant/mini-gallery in Pubstreet.

Poetry focuses on locally made clothes and there are also artworks in this boutique.
Next time you drop by Siem Reap, don’t forget to check out them out.
Update: As of June 2014, The 1961 has been converted to an Art Gallery and Co-Working space while Poetry has been closed for the meantime.

What a cool place. It looks like there is a lot of cool art to check out. I love places like this so I wish I had known about it when I was in Siem Reap.
