Amber Fort – One of the Most Beautiful Forts in India

India has so many monuments, ancient structures and forts. As of the time of writing (August 2012 – my fourth month in India), I’ve been to some places already and have seen quite a few things and one of the most beautiful forts that I’ve seen is Amber Fort in Amer , Jaipur in Rajasthan.

I’m gonna stop blabbering for now (LOL!) and just post some pictures that I took in Amber Fort. No words could ever describe my fascination with this fort so I’ll just let you see the pictures.

It’s a joy to explore the fort as there are so many hallways and stairs that lead to different places. I couldn’t help but imagine what it was like to live in this place.

Ticket cost 300 Rupees per person. There’s also a tunnel that connects Amber Fort to Jaigarh Fort, it closes at 4PM.

If you have enough time, I suggest that you also visit the town of Amer. I wasn’t able to explore it when I was there because we already booked our accommodation to the next destination. The town of Amer can be seen from the town and it looks like a very laidback heritage town that is definitely worth exploring (another reason to go back to Jaipur).

  1. The place looks so colour and green in the monsoon months. Beautiful. It appears brown and arid in winter – the time I usually visit Jaipur..

  2. Wow! Truly amazing photos! Was it easy to travel in India by land?

  3. What a wonderful and colorful place to visit! You have really captured it well!

  4. I agree, Amber Fort is beautiful! I got similar photos of the goats when I was there last year!

  5. What a cool spot! I haven’t gotten the chance to explore India yet (my wife has) but I never would have guessed this was in India. It’s so different compared from all the other iconic Indian attractions. Thanks for sharing!

  6. That’s an incredibly ornate fort. It almost looks like it could be a palace and the scenery is beautiful too.

  7. Beautiful! I can imagine India has some incredibly beautiful buildings and landmarks. It barely looks like a fort more like a very spread out mansion ;)
