Three Unique Travel Experiences I Want to Try

Sometimes when browsing the internet or reading some travel magazines I come across a variety of “unique” travel experiences that I personally want to indulge in. Some of those activities are quite beyond what I know I could do, like hiking the frozen Zanskar River (in Jammu and Kashmir, India) on winter. But some are just within my limits.

Here’s a list of three unique travel experiences that I want to try:

Stay in an Ice Hotel

I’ve seen the pictures a lot of times and it always makes me wonder what it would like to stay in an Ice Hotel. The hotel is made out of ice and even the interior decorations and other stuff are made of ice. And there are ice sculptures too (and even an ice chandelier). I’m sure that they’ve made the rooms comfortable albeit the fact that it’s intensely cold inside. I’ve also read that some people are getting married in their ice church!!! This is truly a unique travel experience for everyone.

See the Northern Lights

This is one of my lifelong dreams to see this magnificent natural phenomenon of the Aurora Borealis or more famously known as the Northern Lights. Ever since I saw the pictures and the documentaries about it, I couldn’t help but always dream of seeing it for real someday. Whenever I meet fellow travelers from the Northern European region, I frequently ask them about it and how was it like when they first saw the Northern Lights. This is definitely on my bucket list.

Take the Trans-Siberian Train from Beijing to Moscow

This is part of the bucket list of almost every traveler I know. To take the Trans-Siberian train from Beijing to Moscow is truly a unique experience especially for a Southeast Asian traveler like me. I couldn’t help but imagine what the terrain looks like when you cross China, Mongolian on to Russia. I have always been a fan of train travel and have done a lot of train rides in China and India and hopefully I could make this one a possibility too in the near future.
