Have you ever dared to go for something unimaginable for you, something that seems to be far beyond your reach? Have you ever felt fire in your guts about a certain idea that you think you can do? Did you ever try to execute those plans?
We all dream of something big for ourselves. It can be building a small family, travelling the world (in my case), building your own business empire or becoming a corporate or social leader. And along the way of trying to achieve this big dream, we encounter three kinds of people.
The Dream Zappers
These people for some reasons don’t have anything nice to say. All they do is bicker and throw rocks at you. They are the ones that will usually say, “it’s impossible” or ‘don’t do that”. They criticize you without giving you constructive feedback to work on. Although be wary that some people may be unintentionally doing it. Maybe they don’t have the exposure in your field of interest that’s why they think it wouldn’t work. Some people are intentionally doing it though. They hate the fact that you’re aiming for something they think they wouldn’t be able to do.
The Uplifters
These people are what I think are angels in disguise. They listened to what you have to say, they provide feedback so you’ll know what to improve on. They recommend stuff that they think might be helpful in what you’re trying to achieve. They are the people that are the first ones to cheer when you finally reach your dream and they’re also the first ones that will catch you when you fall.
The Observers
These people are neither dream zappers nor uplifters. They are the quiet ones in your group that can be swayed to both sides. They seldom have their own opinions on critical things that affect anyone’s life.
It is very critical for each of us to know the kind of crowd that we stick to. They played a major role in influencing us with some of our decisions in life.
Look around you… are you in the process of achieving something for yourself? Are you surrounded by dream zappers, uplifters or observers?

it’s like reading about people from my office.. hehehe
Yeah Dream Zappers are the worst, if they cant do it or dream it neither should you. Such a waste! Obsevers seem to never really know what THEY want.
In my time, I’ve known all three of these kinds of people. I’ve also become pretty good at recognizing them so that they don’t negatively impact me. I also keep a close watch on the dream zappers since they can really bring you down and make you doubt yourself.
im poor with recognizing people that i should not interact with… sometimes it’s a bit late when i realize that im hanging out with the wrong type of crowd… but im learning
