After staying in Bangkok for six months, I accumulated a few stuff that I won’t be able to bring in my travels. Some of those stuff includes rice cooker, electric fan, plates, glasses etc. At first I was thinking of maybe selling them in online classified ads to recoup some of my money but after Googling some stuff on how some people deal with some of their stuff that they’re not intending to bring with them, I came across Second Chance Bangkok.
Second Chance Bangkok is an organization that collects used items around Bangkok to reuse and recycle these items. Some of these items are then sold at their shop and the proceed of the sales go to financing their projects in Klong Toey slum. Some of the items are directly handed over to those who need these items.
Some of the projects that they do in Klong Toey includes Youth and Kids Clubs, Medical Assistance Program, Supporting Small-Business Initiatives, Education Scholarships and Supporting Children with Special Needs.
I’m not in any way affiliated with their organization but after reading some write ups about them, I have decided to give them the stuff that I won’t be bringing in my travels.
If you’re also about to leave Bangkok in the coming weeks and if you’re looking for an organization where you could donate some of your stuff, you may contact Second Chance Bangkok here. Don’t worry about bringing your stuff to their office as they will pick it up in your apartment. Just give them a call or send them an email to schedule the pickup.
