Europe, the home of fine art, exquisite food, rich culture, ancient dynasty’s, and serious partying. For all of it traditions and history, Europe has never failed to show a forward thinking fresh and modern side to itself. This side is composed of a whole array of different elements, but none that epitomize it more so than the European party scene. There are few scenes around the world capable of rivaling the European party scene. We have therefore compiled a shortlist of the three best beach party destinations in Europe.
Mykonos and Ios, Greece
If you were to conjure up what the ultimate beach party would look like in your head, then it’s likely you would end up thinking of the Mykonos beach in Greece. Providing one of the most eclectic mixes of party goers on the planet, Mykonos satisfies all who go. As such, you will find yourself surrounded by an endless crowd of backpackers, ultra wealthy jetsetters, glamour models, and hardcore clubbers all in the same space. If you’re confused as to how all these people can be enjoying themselves despite their differences, you will understand as soon as you get there.

As with most beach parties, the Mykonos beach party scene does tend to revolve around a specific beach bar; in this case it’s the awesome Super Paradise beach bar club. However should you wish to set up your own party with your friends, you are more than welcome to bring your own supplies to the area of the beach you’re spending the day at.
For a one hundred percent backpacker beach party experience in Greece though, it is definitely worth heading to Ios. The parties held at Far Out Beach Club down on Mylopotas Beach in Ios have some people dancing on tables, whilst others prefer to chill in the pool. The majority of beach party backpackers are Australian and Italian, creating an easy going atmosphere where anything goes as long as it’s fun. No matter what sort of beach party you want though, Greece has got it all.
Bora Bora, Ibiza, Spain

As you’ve probably already guessed, no list to do with partying would ever be complete without a mention to Ibiza, and this list is no different. The Bora Bora bar on the beach of Playa d’en Bossa takes the place as what many believe to be the original incarnation of the beach party. Suntanned bodies dance on tables to electronic dance hits, while others wave to the low flying planes going past bringing in and taking away Ibiza holidaymakers. To add to the greatness of Bora Bora, it is also one of the few venues on the island that is 100% free to get into. You can therefore expect a tremendous mix of people all helping to create one big carnival atmosphere. The free to enter policy also has a great knock on effect by way of allowing you to enter no matter your wearing. This no dress code allows you to go in and out of the sea as you please, roll around on the sand, then just enter straight back in the party all while wearing just your bathing costume. Overall, this has to be one of the best beach party’s for both backpackers and holidaymakers alike.
Cyprus
Cyprus does not have many beach parties, however the main one it does have is a real ‘must go’. The Cyprus Sensation Beach Party is the biggest beach party in Cyprus. Established in 2005 by a group of youths from nearby Dheryneia, it has almost doubled in size every year since. Not only has the size increased, the themes have also developed into a system whereby it alternates between black and white every year. The simple theme of either black or white allows everyone to easily join in.

When attending the Cyprus Sensation Beach party, you will also notice that the atmosphere is relaxed and cheery. This can be attributed to its origins as an event originally arranged to raise money for local charities. Even today, this is still the case, with all profits going to charity. Not only is the Sensation Beach Party therefore one of the best in the world, but its also one of the very few morally feel good parties in the world. Whether you are just on holiday in Cyprus or backpacking round Europe, you really can’t miss this.
